ABOUT THIS SERVICE

Medical acupuncture and dry needling can be used alongside physiotherapy when appropriate. Rather than being treated as a stand-alone solution, they can form part of a wider plan involving assessment, education, movement and rehabilitation to address the factors affecting your symptoms and function.

WHO IS IT FOR?

________

Selected patients with musculoskeletal pain, muscle tightness or movement-related symptoms where needling is considered appropriate following assessment.

________

BENEFITS & GOALS

Support short-term symptom management; help ease muscular tension or soreness; improve comfort with movement; complement physiotherapy and rehabilitation where appropriate.

WHAT TO EXPECT?

Suitability is discussed as part of your assessment and the technique is explained before treatment. Fine, sterile, single-use needles are inserted into selected areas for a short period, with the approach tailored to your symptoms and treatment plan. Your consent is obtained before treatment and any relevant aftercare is explained.
